FAQs

Here are answers to those questions you're probably itching to ask. If you're still unsure of anything after reading through these then don't hesitate to email livphysoc@googlemail.com and we'll do our best to answer you!

Who are you?

We are a society run for students by students.  We arrange socials so you can meet like-minded people, and educational events like research talks by experts and trips to places of scientific interest.

Do I need to study physics to join Physoc?

Good news - anyone can join, providing you're a student!  It goes without saying that an interest in physics will help you to enjoy yourself at some of our events, but we also organise events that aren't physics related at all!

Is it true you're the best educational society of 2004/05?

Yes it is! We attended the society awards held in the Saro Wiwa bar in the students' Guild and walked away with the award!  The certificate now hangs proudly on the Physoc notice board in the Chadwick Laboratory.

How do I join?

If you want to become a member, you can sign up at the BASE in the University of Liverpool’s Guild of Students, at any point throughout the year.  Membership is only £3.50 and lasts all year long!
